Boston Scientific has appointed ex-J&J Ortho man Warren Wang as Vice President and Managing Director of its operations in China. Mr. Wang is responsible for leading the company’s team in China and executing the development strategy in the Chinese market. He is based at the company’s China headquarters in Shanghai and reports to Supratim Bose, Executive Vice President and President of Boston Scientific Asia-Pacific.
Warren Wang earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing and a master’s degree in business administration in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago. He recently served as general manager of the Orthopedics group at Johnson & Johnson Medical China and had a Johnson & Johnson career spanning more than 10 years included several leadership positions at both the Ethicon Endo-Surgery and DePuy franchises.
In a press release, issued to announce Mr Wang’s arrival at Boston Scientific, the company effuses:
During his time at Johnson & Johnson, he spearheaded the launch of the company’s new infection prevention business known as the Advanced Sterilization Products franchise, growing it to become the market leader for low temperature sterilization in China. As a result of his achievements, Mr. Wang moved on to manage the growth and development of Johnson & Johnson’s orthopedics and neurosciences franchise, ultimately achieving significant financial growth by building a culture of teamwork, creating an innovative direct-to-consumer marketing campaign, and forming strategic partnerships with government authorities and medical associations. He was promoted to vice president in January 2006 and became a board member of Johnson & Johnson Medical China.
