With the ink still wet on the notepads of the 2011 American College of Chest Physician congress (CHEST 2011), the organisation is calling for topics for its 2012 meeting (CHEST 2012). For the first time this year’s event visited Hawaii, and took place from October 22nd to 26th at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu and was reportedly the great success such a venue was always likely to encourage, with approximately 600o members in attendance, up from around 5000 in previous years.
CHEST 2011 was heavily focused on education, with a strong hands-on component, the entire ballroom of the Convention Center being given over to simulation using models both living and artificial.
The overriding themes for the 2012 meeting are based on the triumvirate of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine and can be found here. Of specific note to medical device community the topics include “Integrating Technology”. Submissions are open to ACCP members and the deadline is November 30th 2011.
