In what appears to have been a series of very public communications between Arthrex Founder and Chief Exec Reinhold Schmieding, and numerous local politicians, it appears that peace has finally broken out, to the extent that the company has announced plans for significant expansion in two Florida Counties. The news item, covered by Naplesnews.com can be found here.
Most controversial is the spat between Commissioner Georgia Hiller, whose district includes North Naples, and Mr Schmieding, who published an open letter to the Commissioner during the approval process. Commissioner Hiller had voted against the incentives, citing faults with the company’s application. That led to Schmieding, in the open letter published in the Daily News, to call for her to “start representing the best interests and job needs of the community or resign”.
