The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons(BAAPS) has sought to put a stop to private clinics cross-selling (or more accurately up-selling) “enhancements” during replacement of PIP implants.
It appears that some private clinics in the UK are endeavouring to recoup some of the costs of undertaking PIP replacement surgery by suggesting now might be the time to consider a few “extras”.
Furthermore the statement from BAAPS, which can be found here suggests patients are being made “time-limited” offers and even being asked to sign gagging orders or agree not to seek further legal recourse.
Needless to say BAAPS is taking a dim view of this behaviour and using words like “immoral”… tough to argue.
