Precision Engineered Products’ position in spinal surgery arena strengthened by BE-ST acquisition

Spinal and Orthopaedic Surgical Instrument manufacturer BE-ST has been acquired by Precision Engineered Products.

Precision Engineered Products (PEP) based in Attleboro, Massachusetts has announced the acquisition of Boston Endo-Surgical Technologies (BE-ST), a manufacturer of spinal and orthopedic surgical instruments.  The newly acquired company will be integrated into PEP’s Lacey business unit, based in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  PEP is a portfolio company of The Jordan Company of New York and Nautic Partners of Providence, Rhode Island, private equity firms that have partnered with PEP for years.

Precision Engineered Products is a manufacturer of surgical instruments including surgical stapling devices, endoscopic and laparoscopic devices, drug delivery systems and other medical components.  Other PEP products include energy management technology, transportation safety devices and critical components to aerospace and other higher technology markets.

BE-ST will provide a strong development pipeline of new technologies and strengthen Precision Engineered Products’ position in the spinal surgery arena.

Commenting on the acquisition, PEP’s CEO, Alan Huffenus, said, “The addition of the Boston Endo-Surgical Technologies products and brand continues our strategy of expanding our offering of highest technology medical devices that extend people’s lifespan and improve outcomes of surgical procedures.”

He continued, “Helping people live longer with a better quality of life while building a successful enterprise is very rewarding for our entire Precision Engineered Products team.”
