ACS Sees US Launch of Fortimedix Low Profile Single Port Surgery System

Having gained approval and attracted new funding, the company is readying itself for a US launch at this week’s congress.

Fortimedix Surgical is launching its symphonX™ in the U.S. at this week’s American College of Surgeons (ACS) Clinical Congress.

Background

Having enjoyed a few weekes with its PR machine turned up to 11, Fortimedix is topping its procession of good news with the launch of its symphonX™ single port surgery system at the ACS congress on Tuesday 18th October. Compatible with a standard 15mm trocar for use in minimally invasive abdominal laparoscopic surgery, the system represents the world’s lowest profile single port surgery solution.

Company comments

“We are thrilled to formally launch the symphonX™ Surgical Platform in the U.S., which we believe has the potential to deliver on the promise of single-port surgery and elevate the standard of care in laparoscopy,” said Tom Dempsey, VP Sales of Fortimedix Surgical. “The technology was developed under the engineering code name FMX314 in close collaboration with leading surgeons to ensure that the platform addresses the needs of the medical community, and by extension the patient community. Our early clinical experience underlines its potential for improved patient satisfaction and health outcomes, including fewer port-site complications, less post-operative pain, faster recovery and exceptional cosmesis.”
