DePuy Case Not Off To A Great Start

More coverage from the trial between Kransky and DePuy has the all-metal hip maker feeling the heat from revelations that it hid the building concerns of orthopaedic surgeons about its device for a long time before the eventual recall.

As promised we’re keeping an eye on the coverage from the DePuy metal-on-metal hip case proceedings.

After last week’s discussion on our pages about the warm-up act before the jury even took its collective seat, New York Times has covered further revelations from the documents issued pre-trial. According to an article posted last Friday, the documents revealed correspondence suggesting that the company was warned by orthopedic surgeons including its own clinical consultants that the ASR hip in question had deficiences.

It’s a fascinating article and you can find it here.

DePuy is claiming to have acted ethically at all times. Lawyers for the plaintiff are begging to differ.
