Endoscopy company PENTAX Medical, has announced two additions to its senior management team. Gene Merante has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Americas and Mark Koppel, MD, will join the organization as Chief Medical Officer of the Americas.
Background
Gene Merante has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Americas, a position he will take on in addition to his current role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO/EVP) of the Americas. In his new role, Gene will be instrumental in leading and ensuring the Americas region operates in the most efficient manner possible.
Gene joined the company in 2006 as Vice President of Finance and since that time has taken on increasing levels of responsibility. He was promoted to Vice President and Treasurer for PENTAX of America, Inc. and PENTAX Canada, Inc. in 2008, and was named CFO and Executive Vice President for the Americas in 2010.
With over a decade of clinical and commercial experience under his belt, Mark Koppel was most recently the Chief Medical Officer at Health Sciences Outcomes. In a newly issued press release, Pentax Medical says he will be responsible for strengthening the interface between the company’s products, its patients and the medical community.
