Back in January we wrote about US company MedShape’s clever ACL tibial graft fixation device, called ExoShape®. The underlying theme of our piece was that we, as unelected, self-appointed representatives of a European clinical community, hungry for the latest news in medical device developments, felt a bit left out by the US-orientation of the announcement.
Anyway, MedShape’s Chairman and CEO Kurt Jacobus has helpfully filled in the gaps for us, for which we’re very grateful (especially given the “mildly miffed” tone of our original piece).
Mr Jacobus tells us that MedShape is currently focused on a US rollout of its product line, including ExoShape, but is targeting Q1 2013 for full international release of ExoShape, including the EU.
He says; “The reception of ExoShape in the US has exceeded our high expectations and continues to require the full measure of our attention.”
“The interest in international distribution rights has been extremely high. At present we are qualifying distributors for international markets for our full line of products including our Morphix suture anchor line, our ExoShape ACL and tenodesis lines and our DynaNail ankle fusion line.”
“We can promise that our products will be worth the wait! See you in 2013.”
Our thanks to Mr Jacobus for the update.
