Pentax Medical, already the major shareholder of Spanish endoscopy company Simmedica, has acquired additional shares, leaving it owning 90% of the company.
Background
Simmedica provides the Spanish and Portuguese healthcare markets with endoscopy and surgery products and services. The company has increased the sales volume of its products and services over recent years, which has been the apparent stimulus in leading Pentax Medical to the decision to acquire the majority of ownership
Pentax’s intention is clearly to strengthen its position in the Spanish and Portuguese healthcare markets, in so doing increasing its presence in Europe.
Simmedica’s Managing Director, José Manuel Ruiz, will lead the company towards achieving these strategic goals, supported by Rafael Ruiz Mosquera, a new member of the leadership team who will take the position of General Manager.
