It’s AANA Time. If You Can Name A Joint They’re Discussing Putting A Scope In It

May 17th-19th sees this years holding of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) meeting in Orlando. The event is the 31st since the organisation was founded and is being held at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

Interestingly one of the keynote speakers at the event is Tommy Lasorda a Baseball “hall of famer” and  known to our pages as a brand ambassador for Heart Rhythm company Biotronik. It seems Mr Lasorda is an ever-present medical device fan as he seamlessly crosses the divide between people poking about in knees as well as chests.

Back to the content, it looks like the usual excellent fayre with discussions as oft repeated as double row fixation of rotator cuff injuries through to knee, hip, elbow, ankle and wrist arthroscopy. Oh and there, right at the end we see two old chestnuts which make this feel like we’re in a timewarp… first notchplasty and then double bundle ACL reconstruction.

Marvellous stuff.
