InVivo Reports Fourth Patient in Pilot Spinal Cord Injury Trial

Two and a half months after the previous case, InVivo is now reporting the news that its spinal scaffold has been used in another study patient

InVivo Therapeutics Holdings Corp. tells us that a fourth patient has been enrolled in its ongoing pilot trial of its investigational Neuro-Spinal Scaffold in patients with acute thoracic spinal cord injury.

Background

InVivo’s scaffold’s quest for market clearance is a very long story, littered with more ups and down’s than your average Lord of the Rings Trilogy (search our pages if you don’t believe it), but seemingly progressing nicely now.

The newly reported procedure took place at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. and was performed by Kee Kim, M.D., Principal Investigator at this site, approximately 53 hours after the injury occurred.

Company comments

Mark Perrin, InVivo’s CEO and Chairman, said, “We continue to make meaningful progress in our ongoing clinical trial. With the fourth patient successfully enrolled, we look forward to enrolling the fifth and final patient in our pilot study and preparing for our pivotal probable benefit study.”
