View From The Med: Can’t Quite Match The Olympics

Are the summer doldrums a good time to bury bad news or an opportunity to get your story to the top of the editor’s “hmmm interesting” list? We ponder this and other matters in our weekly View From The Med.

Yes, it was indeed the greatest show on Earth. For two weeks we were glued to it, teary of eye at the achievements and sore of throat after screaming encouragement at the likes of Mo Farah for what must have been, even for non-Brits some of the most compelling telly we’d ever watched. Brilliant.

Follow that with a return to scouring the world for medical device news and one could be forgiven for thinking nothing’s happening and nobody’s bothered because it’s sunny and we’re all on holiday.

Not a bit of it, as the week has seen the usual mix of medtech news, good and bad. Our very own editorialiser sums it all up here.
