ESVS Silver Jubilee meeting, Athens Sept 22-25

The European Society for Vascular Surgery(ESVS) celebrates its 25th anniversary at its annual congress in Athens from Sept 22-25.

The European Society for Vascular Surgery(ESVS) celebrates its 25th anniversary at its annual congress in Athens next week. The congress, to be held at the impressive new Megaron conference centre will take place from September 22-25. As ever, the meeting in Athens will be of high scientific quality with oral presentations, posters, video presentations, workshops, various symposia and of course, the joint session with vascular nurses and technicians. As the meeting will be dedicated to education, ESVS particularly encourages young surgeons and surgeons in training to participate. All young Society members who have an abstract selected for presentation are receiving a congress travel grant.
Strikingly the society celebrates its 25 years with a startling statement, especially for those of us who were around when it started. The statement reads; “The past 25 years represent half the history of modern vascular surgery. From aneurysm and carotid to occlusive disease and varicose veins, no part of our specialty remains untouched by change. Who can imagine what the next 25 years will bring? New techniques we can only dream of now, will all be debated at our Meeting and in the pages of our journal.”
Powerful stuff from a very progressive organisation for whom Medlatest has the greatest respect.
